The roadblocks that once caused me suffering have guided me from art for entertainment—to art for transformation.
In 2004, I “woke up” to realize engineering wasn’t my true calling. I spent a year exploring my passions and discovered a love for modeling, acting, dance, and music. I took a course at The Stella Adler Studio in New York City, then landed a small role in the Tamil film Vettaiyadu Vilayadu, and modeled costumes for Star Wars during NY Fashion Week. I also studied various dance styles at Broadway Dance Center to nurture my natural talent for dance.
In 2005, I fully committed to the search for true meaning and purpose by leaving life in New York and starting over in Indai. I travelled to various ashram and then studied classical Indian dance Bharatanatyam at Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai. After two years, I made the difficult decision to leave due to various reasons, but the experience left an indelible mark in me and planted the seed for Indian classical arts and a simpler way of life close to nature.
In 2017, I began studying Indian classical music at Dhrupad Sansthan in Bhopal, immersed in the holistic Gurukul lifestyle. Through many challenges, I learnt about voice and nurtured a more sensitive, subtler way of being. During these years of discovery, I realized the strong connection between creative expression and deep healing.
